Paul Rocke is quickly making his name within the Victorian training ranks. His passion, natural horsemanship and technical expertise is translating into race track success.
The young Mornington trainer is now six years into his solo training career after initially honing his craft with respected veteran trainers Robbie Laing and Cliff Brown.
“I definitely have tried to implement the great lessons they taught me, they were both very passionate and had a great ability to train stayers,”
He initially began in Seymour but in 2012, Paul acquired a 10 acre training facility located just 200m from the Mornington Racecourse. The Mornington racecourse is regarded as one of the premier training facilities in the country, and it's proximity to the Balnarring horse beach ensures that it is the perfect environment to accomodate horses of varying needs.
Since moving to Mornington he has achieved great success with numerous city winners and group runners. In the 2012/13 Racing Season, Paul achieved a great feat in having Nisos run in the Victoria Derby and Arousing Suspicion in the Queensland Derby from only a small number of horses in work.
He is active at all the major yearling sales around the country and his first Group 1 winner beckons.
